Which mountain has been climbed least?
Gangkhar Puensum or Everest?
Must be the second one?
After all, only 6,338 people have successfully climbed Everest – and one of those was Ben Fogel 😳
But the answer is Gangkhar Puensum – which is a derisory 40th in the tallest mountain charts, but remains the loftiest of the world’s mountains that has never been summited.
No one has climbed Gangkhar Puensum.
That’s none, zilch, nada.
So, this week I’m announcing…
No, not that. I’m still buzzing when I climb Skiddaw.
Everest is famous for being the tallest. That’s famous and captured.
Gangkhar Puensum, is little known, yet remains unconquered.
What would you prefer?
No.1, yet common?
Or, 40th but unique?
You don’t have to be number 1 to be special.
40th, 400th, 40,000th. It doesn’t matter.
What matters is being authentically you.
Unclimbable!
Less Everest, more Gangkhar.
Let me know what makes you unique by commenting below.
Be Brilliant!

‘The Prisoner’ springs to mind… ‘I am not a number, I am a free man’ (and let’s not go down the track of what is a free man). And for those of you too young to remember, watch the TV series from 1967 with Patrick McGoohan.
Is it me, am I not reading your post correctly? You ask which mountain has been climbed most? Then give the answer as Gangkhar then further down say that no one has climbed.???
I messed up! Fixed now – I think?
Good spot. The online version is fixed now – we hope!
Interesting post Michael.
I once worked with a guy, Martin, who occasionally at meetings or social events would get everyone to write down what made them “unique” or something memorable they had done. All the papers went into a hat, pulled out at random and read out. We then had to guess / work out who the person was.
Martin, for example, having no musical ability at all had actually played tambourine for a full set with Kool And The Gang. And it’s not as if could have blended into the background, he’s 6’8”.
For my part, as a Corporal Radar Technician I once flew a Vulcan bomber for 25mins. Not Hollywood stuff where the pilot is incapacitated, just a “who wants a go” from the aircraft Captain

Just me being my authentic self

I’m the only Luton fan in Somerset?!
Great factoid, Michael. Seemingly Bhutan has banned further ascents of their mystical mountain. A vague suggestion that Yeti have been sighted might cause a flurry of interest. But the people of Bhutan probably prefer the mountain not to be weighed down by dead mountaineers, oxygen tanks and excrement.

Michael,
Firstly we have to note that none of us are actually unique, we are all One Species, Occupying One Planet and all have exactly the same purpose i.e. to find our peace/happiness/contentment during our existence on this physical plain.
That said, we each have our own unique way of determining how our existence whilst on this planet will manifest itself. This determination is based upon 3 pillars of truth (yes I’m banging on about my new book again LOL). But there’s a reason why I’m doing so.
I mention truth again because in reality that’s how people choose to determine who they are, why they are here and/or how they should act in a particular situation.
In reality no 2 situations are ever exactly alike, so therefore as a Zen Buddhist Master would say, there is only the present moment, the next second is an opportunity to choose a new truth (direction of your life if you prefer).
When we accept this FACT (see what I did there), we can start to appreciate that we control our destiny and by thinking the right thoughts, putting those thoughts into action we change our destiny. Simple really, isn’t it ha ha.
So Change your Thoughts, Change your Life (or don’t if you’re content/at peace with your current life). When I say you are content, that’s not contentment when compared to how others are living, but contentment within your own skin. Let others affect you and they will, choose not to let them and they won’t.
Staying true to my identity and never giving up in the face of adversity.
