A very quick message to say thank you for reading, commenting and sharing my newsletters this year.
When I write; I start by facing an empty screen. And before I’ve typed a single word I know 16,000 people may or may not even open my newsletter and this decision is often based on the title alone.
Within hours of pressing send I receive the ‘read statistics’ telling you such things as ‘engagement levels’, ‘clicks’ and ‘unsubscribes’.
It can be daunting.
But I trust my instincts, write what I think you’ll enjoy, know I can’t possibly please everyone all the time, keep my fingers crossed you won’t spot the typos (I spelt Christmas wrong in that last one) and do my best not to get a big head when someone comments with a positive.
2016 has been a funny old year. Two extraordinary votes and two even more extraordinary results. Too many greats died. And Mary left Bake Off.
You couldn’t have predicted it and I have no idea what 2017 will bring.
But I do know the next few days can be a roller coaster. So…
Remember to breathe slowly
Forgive fast
Smile when you’re set to scream
Say thank you quickly
Sleep (naps count)
Have an escape plan
Wear the Christmas Cracker paper crown – it’s the law
And know when to stop – it’s probably about an hour before you think.
From everyone at Michael Heppell we’d like to wish you a very merry Christmas and healthy prosperous 2017.
Be Brilliant!

I like receiving your newsletter and always read it with interest. I think you do a great job and hope you and your team have a great Christmas and that you continue to delight me with your thoughts during 2017.
Hi Michael, I came to many of your courses in London quite a few years ago. I had a number of aims and life goals, but the number one of all of them, was to build my own aerobatic aeroplane and become an Aerobatic Display Pilot. I spent 7 years building my beautiful plane and flew him for the first time last year. This year I achieved my Display Authorisation, and next year will be wowing the crowds with my aerial ballet. So i haven’t been in touch for a while – busy with positive action achieving my dream. see here: https://www.twirlybatics.com/
Wishing a V Happy Christmas to you and Christine and family, Corinne Dennis.
