TODAY, MARCH 3RD 2022 IS THE 25TH WORLD BOOK DAY.
The World Book Day mission is to ‘promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.’
So, what’s wrong with it?
Nothing. IT’S BRILLIANT!
And yet certain people are still finding something to complain about.
I get it. Their main grudge is that it has become more about the costumes than the books.
Super competitive parents ensure little Olivia doesn’t just look like Princess Elsa from Frozen but feels the part with a full three-hour professional make-up session, Bluetooth speaker playing ‘Let it go’ and snow machine delivered by Amazon Prime just in time for this special occasion.
She’s in it to win it, so don’t you dare tell Olivia’s parents that Frozen isn’t a book*.
But I’M SUPER POSITIVE about World Book Day.
ANYTHING THAT ENCOURAGES READING, WRITING AND PROMOTION OF BOOKS (REAL BOOKS) GETS FULL MARKS FROM ME.
MY CRAZY GOAL
Last year I set a goal to help 1,000 people, write 1,000 books in 1,000 days.
Even though I’ve had some big, scary goals in the past – this one feels massive.
My main method to help new authors is through my Write That Book programme.
AND I’M DOING IT AGAIN!
