We all have different ‘levels’ of jeans.
You’ve got your best jeans. The ones you wear when you want to feel smart.
Then you’ve got your everyday jeans. They pass in most situations.
And then… you’ve got those jeans.
The scruffy ones. The ones you probably shouldn’t wear out, but do. The ones that grew with you!
You don’t just have different jeans for different times… you have different versions of you.
There’s the ‘best jeans’ version of you. Focused. Sharp. On it.
There’s the everyday, middle-for-diddle (love that phrase) version. Getting by. Doing okay.
And then there’s the scruffy jeans version. A bit tired. A bit lazy. Letting things slide.
Fancy a question? Of course you would.
Which jeans are you wearing?
Is it the slightly too informal, but ever so comfortable pair?
The ones that feel easy. That’s good. But they don’t ask much of you.
Could comfort be a trap?
Like jeans losing their colour, you don’t notice it at first.
You just accept a bit less here, a bit less there.
Until one day… that’s just who you are. Washed out.
Maybe this is a good day to check.
Not your wardrobe… your standards. What standards do you want for yourself, your life, from others?
It starts with deciding today.
If you’ve been living in your scruffy jeans for a bit too long… might it be time to step into a better pair?
Not for a special occasion.
Just because you want to sharpen up and be a better version of you.
Be Brilliant!
Michael
