When I’m coaching, I often say this: ‘Practice when you don’t need it so it’s there when you do.’
If you have a technique to reduce anxiety, use it when you’re already relaxed. You’ll be strengthening your neural pathways when in a calm state.
If you have a way to create confidence, test it before the big meeting, not in it.
Practise skill on a calm day, not in the storm.
Repetition builds easy access.
We don’t rise to the occasion. We fall to our level of preparation.
Rehearse the response. Build the habit. Lay the tracks.
When the pressure comes, you won’t have to think.
You’ll just do.
Wax on. Wax off.
Be Brilliant!
Michael
